The idea of a home cinema has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years. The rooms are no longer solely used for movie-watching. The constantly increasing availability of streamed content offers access to a wide range of entertainment, including concerts, opera, ballet, games and documentaries. So, these spaces have become multifunctional sanctuaries where people can unwind, socialise, and enjoy immersive entertainment in comfort and style.

As a home cinema supplier, CNEAK has observed a decline in demand for traditional high-back theater seats. As comfortable and ergonomic (at least ours) as these seats might be, the interior design community has mostly shifted toward low-back, sofa-style (motorised) seating. It would be fair to say that only about 10 to 20 percent of the seating we build falls into the traditional theater seating we’ve known for decades.

With more than 25 years in the home-cinema seating business, CINEAK has always been the first to introduce new concepts that adapt to the market demand. TREVIA is CINEAK’s newest modern triple-motorised chaise lounge solution, introduced at the Salone del Mobile Milano (Milan Design Week). The design is minimalist and contemporary with clean lines and a solid build.

A decade ago, we finished most theater furniture in leather now an increase in fabric as the upholstery of choice is very noticeable. It is unclear whether this relates to sustainability considerations or to the switch from traditional (high-back) theater furniture to sofa-style seating.
